She'd star along Benedict Cumberbatch.

Perpetual weirdo Tilda Swinton is reportedly in talks to join Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel's Doctor Strange. THR reports the eclectic actress would play Ancient One, the Tibetan mystic and Dr. Strange's (Cumberbatch) mentor. The character has been rewritten as a woman instead of a man, a move sure to upset certain fanboys and dudes who can't handle the addition of strong, female characters.

We'd say this isn't a typical role for Swinton, but the actress doesn't have a typical role. She's bounced around genres in a refusal to be typecast. And she can certainly capture the strange air necessary to play Ancient One.

Doctor Strange is set to begin filming this November, and you can expect it in theaters Nov. 4, 2016.
