According to the LA Times, four people were wounded Monday night in Isla Vista near the UC Santa Barbara campus following a shooting. One person was wounded during an assault, while the reported gunfire accounted for the wounds of two others. The fourth person's injuries are apparently still unknown. The gunman is reportedly among the wounded.

The UC Santa Barbara campus was temporarily placed on lockdown following reports that the gunman had escaped, though the lockdown was recently lifted alongside a UCSB campus alert informing students that a "person of interest" had been taken into custody by local law enforcement.

As the LA Times notes, Monday night's shooting (possibly a robbery gone wrong) comes nearly a year after the tragic Isla Vista rampage of Elliot Rodger — though there is no evidence to suggest any actual relation to that horrific 2014 case.
