Nick Offerman, the former Parks and Recreation star who now looks nothing like the person pictured above, completely understands the aversion devoted Ron Swanson fans have to seeing him without his signature piece of mustache art. Speaking at a BookCon event in New York on Saturday, Offerman spoke with empathy regarding the sense of nausea many Parks and Recreation faithfuls have supposedly experienced when faced with his clean-shaven reinvention.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

"I'm so grateful that Ron Swanson and Parks and Rec worked so well that it makes people angry that I would dare look different. I understand that it's a compliment when they say it makes them puke when they see me! But I want to remind them that it's my face they're accusing of making them nauseated."

Offerman's BookCon appearance was in promotion of his forthcoming book of sly satire verbosely entitled Gumption: Relighting the Torch of Freedom with America's Gutsiest Troublemakers, the second literary undertaking by the comedian.
