If this past weekend's prom-themed Saturday Night Live skit with Michael Keaton and SNL featured player Mike O'Brien had you jonesing for a simpler time where Freddie Prinze Jr. was king and Sixpence None the Richer could logically share a soundtrack alongside Superdrag, then you should probably start finding a way to thank Spike Lee's wife Tonya Lewis Lee. According to The Tracking Board, Lee is producing a Kenny Leon-helmed remake of the 1999 $100 million hit She's All That with Miramax and The Weinstein Company.

As that SNL skit succinctly reminded you, She's All That tells the groundbreaking story of an inept jock who makes a totally not sociopathic bet that he can turn a reclusive "I like art"-type girl into the high school prom queen. Of course, that film was a modern (90s) adaptation/reinvention of George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion and George Cukor's film My Fair Lady. The remake adds another layer of "inspired by" while also reminding us that 1999 was nearly 20 years ago — which should hopefully force you to realize that this Sixpence None the Richer song is actually great.

The cast of the original She's All That was a smorgasbord of timely forces of nature, including the aforementioned Prinze, the late Paul Walker, Rachael Leigh Cooke, Matthew Lillard, Usher, Lil' Kim, and many more. Though Leon is confirmed as the director for She's All That 2.0, casting still remains as big of a mystery as the nutritional value of that case of Surge you just ordered from Amazon.

UPDATE: Hold your horses, people—apparently the She's All That remake is not yet a sure thing. A deal to make the movie is not yet even in place, according to BuzzFeed:

Don't stop believin' though (sorry, wrong decade).
