The Second Cold War might not officially have started, but tensions between the West and Russia remain high. And today, Russian warships have reportedly entered the English Channel.

It is only a training mission, however. Russian Defence Ministry’s officials have stated that the ships, belonging to the country’s Northern Fleet, are planning to undertake anti-aircraft and anti-submarine drills near the English coast, and will past through the Channel in order to reach the northern Atlantic Ocean.

Russian ships previously entered the English Channel in November last year, when they were tailed by a Royal Navy Patrol boat.
