A 17-year-old student in North West England has been told she can't come back to school until her hair is less ginger. Emily Reay, a natural auburn, has died her hair the same color for the past three years. Suddenly, after Easter break, she was told her hair was inappropriate and against school rules that ban "unnatural" hair colors like blue or green.
"Is ginger not a natural hair color?" Reay's mom asked.
Reay, who's also a musician, says her hair gives her confidence and is essential to her identity. "Everyone knows me as that 'young ginger singer.'"
She plans to fight The Man by coming to hair with her hair pinned up but not dyed a different color. No word on if this is the man in charge of the school:
