The Wrap explains the plot of the film as:

A post-apocalyptic tale set in a Texas wasteland where a community of cannibals reside, “The Bad Batch” is described as a love story about a cannibal known as Miami Man (Momoa) and his food.

Reeves will play a character named The Dream and Carrey will play The Hermit, so in addition to weird eating habits, everyone in this movie also has weird names.
