Last week Mo'Nique said in an interview Lee Daniels told her she'd been blackballed by Hollywood after her Oscar win for not "playing the game." Daniels reiterated his comments on CNN Wednesday night (minus the word "blackballed"), sparking Mo'Nique to deny that parts have stopped coming her way.

"It wasn’t that I was blackballed like Mr. Daniels said… the phone was ringing and the scripts were coming but the offers that were associated with them made me say 'I can’t accept that,'" she told Don Lemon. She added that the roles would have sent out a negative message to African-American women. "If we continue to accept these low offers, how do we make a change?"

Why she didn't dispute her reported status in Hollywood during her original THR interview is unclear, but she also denied last night making demands that Daniels said made her fall out of favor. "There were no demands, there was a request from the movie studio that I fly to France for the Cannes Film Festival," Monique said. "I simply said, 'I respectfully decline.'"
