Targets of SNL caricatures are often tickled; Sarah Palin, Celine Dion and Martha Stewart have all appeared alongside their comedy counterparts. Kenan Thompson's best-known impression is probably Bill Cosby, but he also does a mean Al Sharpton. The civil rights leader came face-to-face with Thompson yesterday on his MSNBC show Politics Nation.
Thompson admits he's sometimes worried about meeting the celebs he skewers in person, but Sharpton has enough of a sense of humor to spoof the spoof (very meta). Sharpton was actually on the show in Thompson's first season. "I helped start you, boy!" he quips. He does suggest, though, that Thompson lose some weight like he did. Ouch.
