Could a selfie of gorgeous beauty queens kicking it backstage at the Miss Universe pageant bring peace and reconciliation to the Middle East. No. No it cannot.

It could however get Miss Lebanon  Saly Greige in trouble for merely associating with Miss Israel. Lebanon forbids contact with anyone from "enemy state" Israel since the 2006 Lebanon War.

Israeli beauty queen Doron Matalon posted the above photo to the gram, and depending on who you believe, she was either just having some innocent fun or was determined to start an international incident (* possible slight exaggeration).

The photo sparked a controversy in Lebanon where some called for Greige to be stripped of her title. Greige defended herself with her own Instagram post saying she knew better than to pose for photos with Miss Israel.

"I was very cautious to avoid being in any photo or communication with Miss isreal, who tried several times to take a photo with me. I was having a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia, suddenly Miss Israel jumped in and took a selfie, and uploaded it on her social media."
