Chris Hemsworth was making more than Theron in a Huntsman prequel. Now it's equal.

Remember when the Sony leak revealed the casual racism, and not so casual sexism of Hollywood? Y'know, before it became the free-speech rah-rah money grab that was The Interview? Well, Charlize Theron does. And cheers to her.

After documents revealed that many of the female leads in such prestigious films as American Hustle earned half of their male counterparts (despite Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams doing equal carriage in an ensemble film), Hollywood spreadsheet makers better get more mindful. Page Six reports that Theron re-negotiated her salary on The Huntsman (a prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman) to be equal to that of her co-star Chris Hemsworth. They are co-leads and will now be paid as equal. That raise turned out to be a bump from an undisclosed amount to a cool $10 million for Theron. Which makes us ask, how the hell does Chris Hemsworth initially make more than Theron?

“Charlize insisted that she get paid the same money as Chris. She has a great track record, so she got the same deal.” Another insider added: “One knock-on effect from the Sony hacking scandal is that there will be more sensitivity about equal pay for actresses and hiring practices at movie studios.”

Get it, leading ladies.
