Ryan Gosling, man of the people, Hollywood hunk, can virtually do no wrong—except when it comes to his directorial debut, Lost River, formerly titled How to Catch a Monster, which won’t be released in theaters after all.
The news is hardly surprising since Lost River tanked so hard when it premiered in Cannes this May, despite its starry cast: Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Saoirse Ronan, Matt Smith. The film, an ode to David Lynch and Nicholas Winding Refn, is a fantasy drama set in a dystopian Detroit where a boy finds a road to a secret underwater town.
At least the Baby Goose has his new daughter and a possible Ghostbusters role to focus on.
