Art Basel has become one of the most prominent platforms in the country for contemporary artists. Each year, it helps showcase many emerging talents in visual arts—and this year, Complex and Sony decided to get in on the action. On December 4, the two teamed up for an exclusive event held at Miami’s chic Cafeina Wynwood, which featured a gallery style showing for two of Chicago’s best up and coming photographers, Elise Swopes (@swopes) and Trashhand (@Trashhand), as well as LA-based videographer Darren Miller (@DarrenMillerFilms).

The artists’ work that was on display was created using Sony’s a7 series of Mirrorless cameras, including the new a6000. Images were culled from each one’s respective Instagram accounts, all of which were shot using a Sony a7 series model. Not only did the 500 guests on hand get to drink in the amazing imagery, but they also enjoyed complimentary beverages and a spin set by Miami’s most notable DJ, Nick Catchdubs. Other notable attendees included rappers Vic Mensa and Chuck English, Miami blogger Ashley Outrageous, visual artist Jayson Atienza, fashion designer Kerin Rose (of A-morir), photographer Jared Ryder, and Grammy-nominated producer Stephan Ponce.

Guests shared photo highlights from the evening via social media using #SonyAlpha. For more of the amazing visuals that the artists captured using the Sony a7 cameras, be sure to check out the video above.
