Paul Rosolie of "Eaten Alive" to His Internet Haters: IDFWU

Last night Discovery tricked a whole bunch of people into thinking Eaten Alive would actually be about a guy getting eaten alive by a anaconda. In reality Paul Rosolie wrestled around with the snake for a few minutes and tapped out as soon as it got real. Understandably, the Internet felt ripped off. But Rosolie doesn't care if people felt like they wasted two hours of their life. 

In an interview today Rosolie said he only attempted the stunt to raise awareness for the Amazon. He was worried about how scientists might react but decided to go ahead with it anyway. "I said, 'Screw it. I don't care about my reputation. If there's a chance this will protect (the Amazon), I'll do it.' I don't care if you're upset I didn't get eaten by anaconda. A, I tried, and B, there's a chance for me to do work with the Discovery Channel and bang my drum about the dangers, and I'll do that."

We see where he's coming from, but that doesn't change the fact that Discovery's marketing efforts for the special were entirely misleading. By the time it was over we felt like the network was giving us a big one of these:
