Seth Rogen does have some good news this week. After Sony had to pass on the film, the Aaron Sorkin penned Steve Jobs' biopic, Jobs, continues to assemble a knockout cast over at Universal. Despite initial Sony objections to public awareness of who Michael Fassbender is, Fassbender will play the Apple founder. Rogen is set to play Steve Wozniak, Apple's co-founder. And Kate Winslet is in negotiations for the female lead.

There are two prominent women in Sorkin's script, and although Variety doesn't state who Winslet will play, an educated guess would be Joanna Hoffman, who was the head of marketing at Mac. Sorkin describes her as a "fantastic character" so Sorkin is probably stoked to have someone from Titanic, after Leonardo DiCaprio jumped Jobs' ship.  The other female role in Sorkin's script is Jobs' daughter, whom Sorkin describes as "the heroine of the movie." Given that Winslet is slightly older than Fassbender, it's probably safe to say that the daughter part (which might've been the one that Natalie Portman recently passed on) is still up for grabs. We can do the math, but can Hollywood?

According to Sorkin, his talky, "claustrophobic" script focuses on seven characters other than Jobs. Per Variety, Jeff Daniels (fresh off Sorkin's just wrapped series, The Newsroom) is also negotiating to play the Apple president who once fired Jobs from Apple, John Scully. So, seats are filling up.  Jobs plans to shoot in spring 2015, with Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire) at the helm.

Winslet can next be seen in Insurgentthe Divergent sequel, and somewhere in the bonkers marquee cast of Triple Nine (co-starring Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Aaron Paul, Anthony Mackie and Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot).
