"Insterstellar" Opens Big at the Box Office

Not surprising.

Christopher Nolan's big-budget space flick Interstellar snagged the number-one spot last night in its debut. It barely edged out Disney's Big Hero 6 at $17 million and $15.8 million, respectively. Interstellar is on track to cross the $50-million mark by the end of the weekend, though some were projecting as much as $66 million.

Both movies had budgets of $165 million, and, if you can believe it, Interstellar is actually Nolan's longest-running movie ever at 169 minutes. Gone Girl is still going strong, too, and may cross $145 million by tomorrow. Ouija came in third last night, followed by Gone Girl and Fury.
