Amy Schumer’s résumé is already pretty damn impressive. She drank on Letterman and created a hilarious sketch TV show, two feats that 99.99 percent of us will never accomplish. But now she’s done something even more remarkable: course the shape of television history.

Thanks to the relentless work ethic of Schumer and the team at Inside Amy Schumer, you can now say the word “p*ssy” on Comedy Central. And the argument they used to get what they wanted? Sexism.

It seems that the word “dick” was used quite freely on all Comedy Central programming, and yet “p*ssy” remained censored. “Halfway through the first season, we started to realize that a lot of the show was addressing women's issues and gender politics,” said executive producer Dan Powell. “I'd written a letter, sort of like write I'd write to my congressman, and I guess it struck a chord.”

As fellow executive producer Jessi Klein put it, “It was a great moment in U.S. history.”

Yes, yes it was.
