The twisting, sad story of Amanda Bynes has taken another turn.

TMZ is reporting that Bynes’ parents are going to hand over conservatorship over their troubled daughter to somebody else, and are moving to Texas. Bynes will be placed under the supervision of a mental health professional who works with people who have severe mental illnesses, and control over her money will presumably be handed to a financial manager of some kind.

Given the Twitter rants Amanda has gone on against her parents (some microchip-prompted, some not), maybe this is a good thing for all parties involved. If it removes an obstacle that has been impeding Amanda from getting better, it’s tough not to be all for it. Clearly, her parents are not the answer when it comes to improving her mental state.
