Original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson thinks the Paul Feig-led reboot is "wrong" and "a bad idea."

And so begins the backlash against Paul Feig’s all-female reboot of Ghostbusters.

While it has taken a long time for this project to even get off the ground, people were at least pleased to see that Feig was going to change up the formula rather than attempt to recapture the magic of the original. You know who isn’t psyched about it, though? Ernie Hudson, who played Winston in the original Ghostbusters movies.

Speaking with the Telegraph, Hudson wasn’t shy about his displeasure:

“I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they'll be funny, and if they're not funny at least hopefully it'll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that's great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don't think the fans want to see that.

Maybe it will come out and be the most amazing thing, but in my opinion I think it would be wrong to do another movie that didn't include the guys.”

Ernie’s philosophy on women in film is super progressive. Basically, if you’re a woman you have two options: be funny or sexy (ideally both). None of this “acting” nonsense. Nobody wants to see that.

Plus, it is so unfair that the movie stars all women. What’s up with this glass ceiling for male comedians? Why is it so hard for them to land featured roles in comedies?

We’re with you, Ernie. If there’s one thing Bridesmaids taught us, it’s that nobody would ever want to go see an all-female comedy.
