Uber launched in Los Angeles back in 2012 and the super convenient car service is more popular than ever and continues to expand to new cities. Apparently, though, Edward Norton was the very first Uber passenger in LA.

"“I met Travis [Kalanick] who started Uber back when it was still kind of this funky little experiment in San Francisco, and I was super-impressed by what he was doing,” he said. "As someone who’s had a long-standing antipathy and occasional physical battle with New York cab drivers, I begged him to bring it to New York City. Begged him.”

Norton used the service to go surfing, but he doesn't get perks from his friendship—he still has to pay surge pricing like the rest of us.
