Every Halloween, without fail there’s always people who commit the worst costume crime: blackface. A crime only made worse when kids are the ones being subjected to it by adults.
One Orange Is the New Black fan/twitter user Ashley Chapman decided blackface was appropriate when dressing up a little girl (who may or may not be hers) as OITNB’s “Crazy Eyes” played by Uzo Aduba.
She obviously missed last year’s debacle when Julianne Hough also used blackface for her “Crazy Eyes” costume, which she later apologized for.
This joins another disturbing kids costume (which shouldn't even be a costume) featuring blackface that’s been all over social media these days: Ray Rice.
Blackface is never excusable. Race is not a costume.
