The Ice Bucket Challenge has been able to stand up against cynics critics remarkably well. But now there's one legitimate grievance to be had: The Ice Bucket Challenge nearly killed a man.
A Belgian photographer is in critical condition because he decided to go extreme and have a plane drop 396 gallons of water on his head from 22 feet in the air. That's basically the equivalent of having a mid-sized sedan dropped on you.
Of course, we don't actually blame the Ice Bucket Challenge for this. People just need to chill out, make a marginally entertaining video, and donate. The point is to raise money for ALS; not to become a viral star. So if you have the right intentions, no life-risking stunts should be necessary.
