Hundreds of fast food employees have taken to the street today to protest what they see as unfair and stagnant living wages. The protests are aimed directly at the giants of corporate food-stuffs such as McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King, and Pizza Hut have all been targeted by protesters.
The demand for the right to unionize and a $15 an hour minimum wage hike are at the center of the protests. Workers are often forced to work 60-70 hours a week just to barely scrape by. Police have begun arresting protesters in cities across the country in Baltimore, Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. This is considered a long-term strategy by protest organizers and have claimed they're in the fight for the long haul. Stay tuned as this story is very far from over.
