After months of rumors about who will star in the second season of HBO's True Detective, Colin Farrell is the first to finally say, yes, he's definitely doing the show.

Speaking to the Sunday World, Farrell said, "I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited.” Unfortunately, he didn't reveal anything else.

"I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot. I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids."

The rest of the cast is still completely rumored at this point, but the names that keep coming up include Vince Vaughn, Elizabeth Moss, Rachel McAdams, Jessica Biel and Taylor Kitsch

According to TheWrap:

The second season of “True Detective” will follow the death of a corrupt city manager of a fictional California city who's found brutally murdered amid a potentially groundbreaking transportation deal that would forever change freeway gridlock in the state. Three law enforcement officers from different cities and branches of the government are tasked with finding out who did it.

You can count on shit getting way deeper than that, of course. The series is rumored (more rumors!) to be coming back in the summer of 2015.
