Chris Pratt Threw Out a Terrible First Pitch, But That’s Totally OK

Chris Pratt threw a pretty awful first pitch at the Cubs game last night, but still managed to make it look cool.

You know how Chris Pratt can basically do no wrong? This is just the latest example where he will totally escape criticism, even though if it were someone else he would probably get ripped to shreds.

And honestly, that double standard is fine.

In Chicago shooting scenes for the final season of Parks & Recreation, Pratt took to Wrigley field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at last night’s Cubs-Brewers game. As has happened to celebrities numerous times this year, it didn’t go well.

Despite missing juuuuuust a bit outside, Pratt totally owned the moment with this look:

Plus he was wearing a hat that said “GROOT,” which is both hilarious and awesome. It wasn’t any kind of Guardians of the Galaxy swag, though; it is, in fact, a Chicago-based waste management company who now could not be happier about the free publicity:

Apparently Pratt doesn’t just charm everyone he meets; he also helps boost business.

And, as is tradition at Wrigley, he also gave a rousing rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh inning stretch. Not his finest musical work (that distinction still belongs to "Forgot About Dre"), but still acceptable:
