The filming of the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton took an all-too-real turn last week, as production was disrupted when a drive-by shooting occurred right near where the cast was working outside the Compton Courthouse. Everyone involved with the movie was unharmed, but a civilian was hit by one of the shots and did survive.

TMZ is reporting that the shooting was a result of neighborhood residents flashing gang signs at the passengers in the car, although the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not concluded that the shooting is gang-related just yet.

The movie will resume shooting in Compton this week, although you have to think they’re a little scared now that they know they may have to dodge a few bullets while filming. At least it will keep production speeding along though, right?
