After the last trailer offered a very brief glimpse into Bob Odenkirk’s revival of the titular lawyer in Better Call Saul, this latest teaser asks the question many Breaking Bad fans have already been pondering: what made Saul Goodman change his name from Jimmy McGill?
BB creator Vince Gilligan and Saul showrunner Peter Gould are wondering the same thing, although their super phony discussion is more annoying than anything since we know that they obviously have the answer. After all, they’re the ones who came up with it.
At least we know even when he’s Jimmy, Saul is basically the same guy. You can feel the sleaze oozing through the screen when he says “I don’t go looking for guilty people to represent. Who needs that aggravation, right?” His client list is basically made up exclusively of guilty people.
