No. It doesn’t. This is not about Season 2 of True Detective.
The pair will be starring in The Nice Guys, a police drama from Iron Man 3 director Shane Black. The film centers around a dynamic detective duo in mid-1970s Los Angeles investigating what appears to merely be the suicide of a porn star, only as they get deeper into their search they realize there are greater forces at play.
Really, our biggest hope for the film is that it finally allows us to see what the curmudgeonly Crowe would look like in bell-bottoms.
