Emma Watson to Star in New YA Novel Adaptation

Emma Watson will star in and produce "The Queen of Tearling" film adaptation.

In the past two years Emma Watson has starred in another Young Adult adaptation smash, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, and this year's biblical epic Noah. 

One of young Hollywood's most dynamic actresses, despite her early Harry Potter fame, Watson has now signed on to play Kelsea Glynn in the film adaptation of Erika Johansen's YA series The Queen Of The Tearling. She will also be an executive producer on the film.

The novel, out tomorrow in the U.S., is about a young woman who becomes queen of a country on her 19th birthday and must then face the evils that come with it and with the neighboring "Red Queen."

To prepare for the role Emma will have to learn to ride a horse, takes lessons in combat training (with knives and swords). Additionally, she'll learn to snare rabbits.

Filming may start as early as next year.
