Former Bulletstorm developers The Astronauts (then People Can Fly) have released the first trailer for their new "weird fiction" mystery horror game The Vanishing of Ethan Carter this week, and it's, well, not a whole lot like a typical video game trailer. Mostly it's just shots of Pacific Northwest-y coniferous trees nestled outside of a rundown rural town. Then you get a pretty graphic killing of a who one would only assume is Ethan Carter, the boy whose murder you're investigating in the game. That's it, there's your trailer.
Bulletstorm was an interesting enough take on a shooter, so for The Astronauts to take on a detective horror game – one with no combat, to boot – definitely has our interest piqued. With E3 just around the corner, we'll probably more soon.
