T-Mobile's CEO used a poor choice of words in describing AT&T and Verizon.

If you're a CEO of a major tech company, it's expected that you might throw some shade at your competitors. It's normal. What's not normal, and is completely uncalled for, is likening your competitors to rapists, when, you know, no rape is actually going on.

Earlier this week, T-Mobile's CEO John Legere put AT&T on blast with this tweet:

And he continued the criticism last night while on stage at a company press event.  When talking about AT&T and Verizon, he dropped this bomb of a quote: "These high and mighty duopolists that are raping you for every penny you have... the fuckers hate you."

Cue the awkward silence. Now, paying a expensive phone bill sucks, but it's not rape. This doesn't even work symbolically: at least you signed up for your phone plan, it's not like AT&T and Verizon forced you into paying. Legere is known for speaking off hand and saying some crazy shit, but he should certainly use his Twitter "skills" to offer an apology.
