You might not believe it, but the Resident Evil film franchise has been one of the most profitable series in the last 15 years. Combined, the five films have grossed more than $915 million worldwide, with a collective budget of $248 million. No matter what you think of these movies personally, you can’t deny that they make bank.
Today, Collider caught up with franchise mainstay, director Paul W.S. Anderson, to see what he had to say about the next film in the series, tentatively titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter:
None
The Final Chapter sounds like a definite end, right? Well Anderson believes so, and he said this when asked if this title means it will be the last installment:
None
Again, this movie franchise has been so lucrative that it wouldn’t be a complete shock if another sequel saw the light of day. But as of right now, it seems like Resident Evil: The Final Chapter might be it for this under-the-radar property.
