Depending on how you feel about Frank Miller’s work, the trailer for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will either get you incredibly excited or just mildly excited.

The follow-up the 2005’s Sin City, A Dame To Kill For reunites much of the old cast (Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Powers Boothe, and Rosario Dawson) with a decorated array of newcomers (Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, Ray Liotta, Lady Gaga, Jeremy Piven, Dennis Haysbert, and Eva Green).

It still has the same aesthetic look as the original film, but rather than being episodic like the 2005 edition, this new version has one flowing narrative connecting all the characters. It appears as if Brolin, Rourke, Alba, and Gordon-Levitt will be coming together to try to kill the corrupt Senator Roarke (played by Booth), with a lot of chaos and bursts of color mixed in.

While Robert Rodriguez and Miller’s style may not be for everyone, there’s no denying that it creates one of the more unique looks in modern cinema. The movie will be released in theaters on August 22, and you can enjoy the trailer above.
