Google Street View cars have been almost everywhere and anywhere, and they've seen just about everything that can happen on the road.

So when a Street View user in Scotland came across a photo of a body on the ground with a man holding a pick axe standing over it, he immediately called police. When officers came to the scene, they found the man in the image alive and well working at a garage nearby. Back in late 2012, the two men in the picture, Dan Thompson and Gary Kerr, saw the Street View car coming down their street, so they quickly thought of something to do (which murder is always at the top of the list.)

"This opportunity wasn't coming around very often so Gary grabbed a pick axe handle and we ran out into the street," said Thompson. "Giles Street is in a U-shape so we had about a minute before it would pass us. It had to go around a car park to take various shots so that gave us some time."

The two men forgot about checking out their prank on the site, since it takes a few months for Google to update their pictures. Having police pay you a visit is a good reminder. Except someone needs to remind the police that Google Street View isn't live — it wasn't like they were going to show up and find the body.
