Facebook's Oculus Rift is going to be the hot new thing when it's finally made available to the public, but until then, Google is trying to get in on the fun, too.

During yesterday's Google I/O conference, the company unveiled Google Cardboard (yes, that's a real thing), that turns your Android phone into an Oculus-like device. By folding a specially designed piece of cardboard up, you can create a pair of goggles that can enclose your Android phone — which will be running software that will create virtually reality images — and give you a poor man's Oculus Rift. All you'll need is the cardboard, and Android phone, lenses, Velcro, magnet and rubber band. Easy, breezy.
