We may not be getting a Django Unchained movie sequel any time soon, but director Quentin Tarantino isn’t done with his creation yet. Today, Dynamite Entertainment put out a press release (via Comic Book Resources) announcing that Django will return in comic book form later this year in a joint comic with DC Entertainment.

In the book, Django will team-up with the iconic Zorro in a crossover that will be written by Reginald Hudlin (Django Unchained producer) and Matt Wanger (Batman and the Monster Men), with Tarantino on board as a co-plotter. Here are a few quotes from the creators involved:

This comic is a joint effort between Dynamite, which has been publishing Zorro comics recently, and DC, which had put out a Django Unchained comic adaptation at Vertigo last year. Obviously some fans would rather see a Django movie sequel, but with the creators involved, and the intriguing involvement of Zorro, this is a crossover that should appeal to comic junkies and cinephiles alike.
