Hot on the heels of E3, Ubisoft might well be ready to announce a new last-gen Assassin's Creed entry to be released alongside the already-announced next-gen AC: Unity. CEO Yves Guillemot said as much during an investor call this week, stating that Ubisoft was still very commited to the PS3 and Xbox 360.

"We have made it clear that as a company we expect to continue supporting those consoles for the foreseeable future," Guillemot said, stating that the PS3 and Xbox 360 SKUs haven't been announced yet.

Complex previously reported that Ubisoft was allegedly cooking up a last-gen-only sequel to last year's Assassin's Creed IV dubbed Comet, so it's possible that this is what Guillemot was referring to. (Thanks to this rather detailed rumor, Guillemot's tease may prove to not have been much more than a confirmation of what's already known.)

At any rate, E3 is just around the corner, so expect to hear news of what comes next for AC (apart from Unity) soon. Keep it here for more details.
