The former NYPD officer known as the "cannibal cop" is making good use of his time behind bars by cooking. What's more, he's actually quite good at it.

Gilberto Valle was arrested in Oct. 2012 and eventually convicted for planning to kidnap, kill, cook and eat women. Valle, 30, hasn't been sentenced yet, so he spends his days at Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center working as a jailhouse cook. His specialties? Breakfast and lunch. Valle's mother, Elizabeth, told the New York Daily News that he's "mastered" the art of making pizza. Apparently, it's so good that even the guards crave it.

In addition to making 44 cents an hour as a cook, Valle is helping his defense team challenge his conviction. A judge is considering it, hence the delay of his sentencing. In the meantime, he has a fitting task to occupy him.
