After it was first pitched and funded on Kickstarter by Zach Braff himself nearly a years ago, we finally have our first look at Braff's latest film project: Wish I Was Here, the story of a struggling actor/father who is "is still trying to find his identity" and a purpose to his life, at 35 years old. Existential crises can hit at any age, guys! As the Kickstarter page reads:

None

In addition to Braff, the film also boasts a star-studded cast including Kate Hudson, Josh Gad, Ashley Greene, Mandy Patinkin, the late and great James Avery, Braff's Scrubs bro Donald Faison, and Jim Parson—amongst a lot of others. Braff directed, and co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Adam.

As for the trailer—it's pretty much everything you'd expect the trailer for a Zach Braff movie to involve. There's a lot of wide shots, a song by alternative band The Shins ("Simple Song," specifically) playing in the background, and totally intellectual, pensive, deep dialogue we all love and expect from indie cinema. Wouldn't have it any other way!

You can check out the trailer above. Wish I Was Here will open in theaters on July 25.
