The end of Michael Bloomberg's reign over New York City didn't mean the end of the war on big sodas, as Mayor Bill de Blasio revealed and has maintained an oppositional stance since addressing it during his campaign last year. According to the New York Daily News, city lawyers say they'll go to bat for the issue once again in June.

The New York State Supreme Court shot the proposed ban down last March, and, as the Daily Intelligencer says, Bloomberg made grave mistakes. Not only did he neglect to let legislative branches aside from the Department of Health vote on it, the language of the proposal was off.

While nothing specific about de Blasio's approach has been divulged, he's confident he can come up with a clear, concise directive for businesses, and is cool with letting City Council vote on the matter. Let's see how this goes under a new mayor come June.
