Now this is perfect. After months of giving fans only brief glimpses of the new Godzilla design, Entertainment Weekly (via Coming Soon) has revealed the first close-up of the legendary lizard from this summer’s reboot. Thankfully, director Gareth Edwards didn’t tinker with the formula like the 1998 version did. Instead, team ‘Zilla took what made the original work so well and translated it into a modern American blockbuster. The result is both terrifying and awe-inspiring, and it should please even the most ardent of Godzilla purists. Take a look at the image above and tell us what you think.
