The Simpsonsepisode last night included an intro inspired by the video game and cultural phenomenon Minecraft. The wildly popular game is already a household name, thanks to references on show's like South Park and being featured in the latest Lady Gaga video, not to mention the million and millions of copies sold on nearly every device possible. But developer Markus “Notch” Persson still finds it amazing.

"I STILL feel a bit like it's just this small game I made at home. It's so weird to have all these things happen. <3" Notch tweeted. Minecraft had humble beginnings as a small indie game no one could quite figure out, to a massive seller that's even being turned into a movie by Warner Bros.

Check out the clip above to see Simcraft, The Simpsons version of the game. It would have been even better if the show had tapped the large amount of The Simpsons content already fan-created in Minecraft, but hey, you can only ask for so much.

In case you live under a rock, The Simpsons creates a different intro, so called “couch-gag” for each show. Riffing on cultural phenomenons and well known franchises as widly ranging as director Guillermo Del Toro to PBS hit Downton Abbey .
