I'm saddened to say that Bungie's board of directors terminated me without cause on April 11, 2014.
O'Donnell is responsible for some of the best music in games including the amazing sleeper hit Oni (2002), as well as the Myth and Halo series. He was responsible for directing voice talent and sound design for the Halo trilogy, Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST. Widely considered to be one of the best in the business he also gave a lot of gamers some awesome moments.

The upcoming Destiny soundtrack features collaborations with Paul McCartney who was drawn to the project because of the interactive nature of the game's music, and it's composer. While we may never know actually why Bungie decided to pull the plug on O'Donnell the developer released this statement today:
"For more than a decade, Marty O'Donnell filled our worlds with unforgettable sounds and soundtracks, and left an indelible mark on our fans. Today, as friends, we say goodbye. We know that wherever his journey takes him, he will always have a bright and hopeful future.
We wish him luck in all his future endeavors."
