It’s been more than four years since DC announced that Grant Morrison’s Multiversity was set to hit shelves in 2010, but countless delays have stuck the project in development hell until now. According to Comic Book Resources, Morrison’s long-awaited miniseries will finally debut this August at DC and continue through 2015.

This self-contained miniseries will feature a new artist on each installment, including Chris Sprouse and Karl Story, Ben Oliver, Frank Quitely, Cameron Stewart, and more. With each issue clocking in at 40 pages, this is a mega-sized comic that aims to explore all of the multiple Earths and dimensions of the DC universe. That means we’ll see countless different versions of DC’s most popular heroes, including the Superman from Earth-23 who also happens to be the President of the United States.

Check out what Morrison had to say about the project below:

"Prepare to meet the Vampire Justice League of Earth-43, the Justice Riders of Earth-18, Superdemon, Doc Fate, the super-sons of Superman and Batman, the rampaging Retaliators of Earth-8, the Atomic Knights of Justice, Dino-Cop, Sister Miracle, Lady Quark, the legion of Sivanas, the Nazi New Reichsmen of Earth-10 and the LATEST, greatest superhero of Earth-Prime -- YOU!

Morrison has been out of the monthly superhero game since his run on Action Comics ended a few years ago, so Multiversity is a welcome sight for fans eager to return to the writer’s post-modern, surrealist take on capes and tights.
