One of the most consistently coveted roles in Hollywood is that of the next James Bond villain, and according to The Wrap, Sony is looking to bring in a big name for the Skyfall sequel. The site is reporting that 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor is the frontrunner to land the part of the bad guy in the 24th installment of the franchise.

If cast, Ejiofor would star alongside Daniel Craig, who is returning for his fourth Bond movie, which will again be directed by Skyfall’s Sam Mendes. Not much is known yet about the movie except that it calls for the part of another Bond girl and a “Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond.”

After Skyfall brought in more than $1 billion worldwide, you should expect the studio to do everything possible to top it. Casting an actor like Chiwetel Ejiofor would be a great start. We'll let you know when/if there are any more developments on this story.
