In the mid-90’s, NBA Jam lit the arcades on fire.

With its cartoonish, over-the-top approach to basketball, the game was instantly accessible and relentlessly fun.

NBA Jam had an iconic announcer with iconic lines (“He’s on fire!” “He’s heating up!”) and iconic moves to boot. Windmill dunking a flaming ball never lost its appeal.

Equally memorable, however, were the secret, hidden characters. Many were rumored (Barney the Dinosaur and Beavis & Butthead were two popular myths), but we’ve done our best to separate the fact from the fiction. We’re counting down the Top 15 secret characters from the NBA Jam franchise.

Lace up your sneakers and chug your Gatorade. It’s time to Jam.
