The creative director and head writer behind the Unchartedseries, Amy Hennig, has left Naughty Dog games.

IGN reported that the director and creative force behind Uncharted: Drake's FortuneUncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception was "forced out"of her position at Naughty Dog. Sony has released a statement that Uncharted 4 will continue as planned, but under the new leadership of Neal Druckman, the creative director behind the massively successfulThe Last of Us.

Hennig's departure marks the second high-level developer at a major studio. Just last month, BioShock creator,Ken Levine, announced that he would be shuttering Irrational Games, the studio behind the BioShock series.

The losses of two massively creative entities in the gaming space prompt a hell of a question: Are we watching the end of the traditional, blockbuster video game development process come to an end? And is the Uncharted series screwed? In the Complex News clip above, we break down what the news means, for Nathan Drake, his fans, and the video game industry at large.
