Uncharted 4 director Justin Richmond has left Naughty Dog, marking the second time in a month a high profile developer has left the studio. Richmond, who left the company to take a job at League of Legends developer Riot Games, said an interview this week with IGN that Naughty Dog will be just fine even in his absence.

"[I] know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward," Richmond said in a prepared statement, adding that Riot is working on some "really innovative stuff going on here that I can't wait to be a part of."

The news comes just weeks after creative director Amy Henning, who was also working on Uncharted's PS4 debut, departed the studio. Sony has not yet released a statement of their own regarding Richmond's departure – while Henning's leaving the company has not reportedly affected the game's development, it is unclear whether or not Richmond's departure would or not. Richmond previously headed up Uncharted 2's multiplayer component before serving as game director on Uncharted 3. Sony has yet to announce a release date for Uncharted 4.
