Could The Last of Us be the next last-gen game to make the leap to a next-gen platform? If a source from Sony's Eurasian division is to be believed, that's exactly correct. In an interview this week with CNN Turk, Software Marketing Manager Sercan Sulun seemed to accidentally let something slip.

"There is no information about a newThe Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge: As of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically," the executive said. He added that this would-be definitive version, should it exist, would include souped-up graphics as well as Left Behind, the game's prequel story DLC that released in February.

Sony has not as of yet officially announced the existence of a PS4 port of The Last Of Us, it doesn't seem anywhere near out of the question – particularly coming off the recent awards the game garnered at the BAFTAs and the IGFs earlier this month. Nevertheless, Sony quickly issued a statement of their own:

"At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject."

Given the specificity of Sulun's quote, it seems unlikely that there was no veracity to it. In all likelihood, Sony's statement is just a damage control tactic to help quell interest before an official announcement is prepared. Time will tell, but it seems highly unlikely that TLOU won't show up on PS4 after this incident.
