The First Trailer For Jamie Foxx's "Annie" Remake Is Here

Things are a little different for an orphan in the modern world.

Fresh off an Academy Award nomination for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild, the young and infinitely talented Quvenzhané Wallis is now set to take on the role of the orphan Annie in the upcoming musical remake. Produced by Jay Z and Will Smith, and directed by Easy A’s Will Gluck, this modern retelling of the classic tale also stars Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne, and a delightfully salty Cameron Diaz.

In the debut trailer for the movie, we see all of the trademark Annie beats and get to hear snippets from the classic songs. And while things might not be exactly as they were in the 1982 version of the film, this one looks like an appropriate update.

Annie will hit theaters on Christmas Day.
